I started my career as a horrible corporate servant.

My previous life in startups taught me bad habits. Then a couple of years into my banking career, I read a book called “Daring Greatly.” The idea that emotional intelligence is a huge career advantage got planted in my brain.

After reading the book I worked hard to upgrade my soft skills.

Within a few short years I went from a nobody working in a call center, to a director-level role dealing directly with some of the biggest tech companies in Silicon Valley.

I’m not that smart. My IQ is average. My business knowledge is normal. Yet I consistently got access to out-of-reach career opportunities.

These are the soft skills to learn to fast-track your career and do the same (no extra university needed).

Ruthlessly develop a positive attitude

The office is full of Debbie Downers.

They hate their job. They hate their boss. They hate their employer. They don’t believe in the products/services their employer sells. A negative attitude is easy street.
