Office Workers Want a Flexible Hybrid Workplace

There is a lot of hype around going back to the office full time. After about a year and a half, many large companies are recalling their workers back to their office buildings in an attempt to get things back to “normal.”

There has been a lot of pushback from office workers wanting more flexibility to work wherever they want. This is especially true of tech workers that are in high demand and have the tools to perform their jobs seamlessly when they work remotely. Google is now offering employees the option to remotely. Depending on where you are located, you might have to take a pay cut. Once Google starts doing this, many other companies will follow. Just as Casual Friday infected the workplace back in the 1960s and slowly spread across the country (Does anyone still do Casual Friday?), the WFH thing will eventually take over white-collar work.

The coronavirus pandemic upended just about everything that has to do with office work. We are well into our 2nd year of a lockdown. Most large companies in the United States and Europe still have their office workers working from home. Some had started to bring employees back to the office when it looked like infection rates…
